2010 Begins New Partnerships for FIBR!

FIBR is joining forces with two great organizations in 2010!  CHARO Community Development Corporation and Roundtable of Food Professionals (RFP).

CHARO has over a forty year history of serving the business community of Southern California.  With offices in Los Angeles and Riverside, they offer a myriad of services that compliment FIBR’s programs.    Many of you have approached FIBR about how to get WMBE Certified, CHARO has a program for that.  Just getting started? CHARO offers the ABC’s of Business Start up & Micro Loans.  Want to lean how to supply the schools, utilities or municipalities?  Need to determine if you are ready to approach the COSTCO’s of the world?  CHARO can help you figure that out too.  FIBR’s sees this new partnership with CHARO as an opportunity for our members to learn about business services that can help them grow and stay competitive. FIBR can also be an avenue for CHARO members to access food safety trainings, learn in our business-related seminars and take advantage of  FIBR’s networking opportunities.

To learn more about CHARO, please visit their website at www.charocorp.com.  Here are also some items to help you quickly look at CHARO’s services:  For CHARO’s 2010 Calendar, click here; For WMBE Certification, click here; For Financial Services, click here; for Inland Empire MBE Center, click here.

RFP  provides educational, mentoring and networking opportunities to Food Business Professionals.  They endeavor to provide visibility and recognition through collaborative professional development and focus their attention on the educational development of food service students and support their transition into the food industry.

RFP is about networking. RFP is about bringing together the best and the brightest entrepreneurs in the local Food Industry and making all of their enterprises and the people who work in them better and more successful.

RFP is about sharing skills with young people and promoting excellence in product and service for Southern California consumers.  RFP gets together once a month to talk about what's going on the industry, to learn new things, and to keep and build their networks.

RFP supports Culinary, Food Service and Dietetics programs at the High School, Trade School, Junior College and University levels by giving scholarships to deserving students and making RFP members available to students for discussions, events and programs at the schools.  Mentoring is also a huge part of what RFP offers.

To learn more about RFP, visit their website at www.rfporg.org.  Their email is info@rfporg.org

I am sure you can see that natural fit of RFP with FIBR.  RFP will help us expand our network of food industry colleagues and enhance our current relationships with Dorsey Culinary Arts and Los Angeles Trade-Technical College (as well as the other educational institutions RFP helps).  Our first venture together will be FIBR’s first mixer this year, Chinese New Year Networking Dinner on Thursday, February 11th.  This is a great opportunity to meet our RFP colleagues, network with other FIBR members and have a great meal!  Hope to See you There!
