Gathers Strategies is a Los Angeles-based business and economic development consulting practice. Dwayne Gathers has been involved in international affairs and international trade and investment for nearly two decades. He served as Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs at the U.S. State Department in Washington, D.C. and was subsequently selected to serve as the first Director of the State of California's Office of Trade and Investment in Johannesburg, South Africa - from 1995- 2000 - where he advised and assisted a wide range of California companies seeking to develop export opportunities in his region. Dwayne has developed and executed trade and business development delegations, both outbound and inbound, for foreign trade groups as well.
